Bury St Edmunds, March 1999

In late March of '99 sixteen of us travelled across England for a short holiday in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. Here are a few photographs from that trip.

The chaps spent a lot of their time ghosthunting...

The weather was glorious, and the Regency House Hotel (left) was a fine choice of residence... (but sadly not haunted!)

We visited Framlingham Castle, (below left) and rolled ourselves down into the (fortunately dry)moat. The day was particularly sunny, though on the photo it looks overcast. Wierd...

We also visited Thetford priory, where CJ claims to have seen a ghostly monk through this arch, and to have tried to have run up a staircase that wasn't there while chasing said ghost. CJ is like that... This is the archway where the ghost appeared...

The story featured a few years back on the Discovery Channel's Ghosthunters series, which CJ was involved with.

The comittee of the society sitting near the spot where the Magna Carta was drawn up in 1215.

On the Saturday we visited South Suffolk, including the beautiful village of Lavenham.
Jodie and Lyndsey were much taken with the pink houses!

I'm sure there were more incriminating photographs, but these appear to be the only one scanned.

We liked the natives, and it was decided by the girls they wanted a hordling all of their own, who they would keep and take it in turns to feed and exercise it. Here is Eoghain of the NAH, wondering how he came to be in Gloucestershire, after we got back!
