This one was taken during a day trip to Blenheim palace in August 1991,
while CJ was still working as a Nurse and I believe DC had just moved back,
or maybe he was still in Cumbria. Anyone know? Nic was also there,
and she was still at College at the time, and was an enthusiastic
member of the Choir and Ballroom Dancing Society.
Not the best photo of Dave S I admit, but the only one I own.
It's of particular interest because next to Dave is Steve Chadwick
and Fran, now happily married and living in the East Midlands.
I spoke with Steve briefly last New Year, and hope to catch up with
him and Fran again soon.
I'd forgotten that I used to have flowers painted on my jeans!
This was taken in the back garden of Nic's old house at Church Close
Leckhampton, which she shared with Steve Chadwick and John Mackenzie, who
appears here (on the left of Richard Lay!) The short hair means
the photo was taken shortly after my graduation, which
makes this winter of 1990.
Here we have a fine portrait of the young mr Wheeldon,
looking a lot more Midge Ure than his later Freddie
Mercury look. Paul was always quite stylish, which
I was not!
Nic has airbrushed out herself and a friend, which is
quite amusing. She hasn't appeared in the galleries much
so she feels safe. No chance! I've been saving my photos of
the Beastie, and they shall soon have their very own gallery!
