Ben is not even adolescent, and is still more of a child than a teenager. As Ben he is a Schoolboy at KEGS, with a part time job as Stableboy on Tim's parents farm. Tim (Sir Roderick) has recently been neglecting im for his interests elsewhere in the Kingdom, but is basically a kind and useful mentor. Owain has a real horse, Bey, and a chimerical lance, sword and dull metallic blue (stormy sky blue/grey) Sidhe plate. He will one day learn the art of controlling the pack, but at the moment has not been taught the secrets of the Beodric Wolves.
His parents are both farm workers and appreciate that Owain likes to roam, and are understanding of the odd night at the farm with Tim's folks and the horses.
