BACKGROUND
Charles Mortimer has PhD's from the Universities of
Geneva and Jerusalem, his first thesis being in
'The Early Temple in the Founding of the Kingdom of
Jerusalem in Outremer' and his secon on 'The Temple
and pseudo-Templar Orders following the Destruction
of the Order'. A British gentlemen academic, Mortimer
has an interest in and is a member of several Chivalric
Orders as well as being a gentleman of considerable means.
In the early 1990's while poking around in ruined Crusader
castles he inadvertantly stumbled on proof of the terrible
truths of the Cthulhu Mythos, and narrowly escaped with his
sanity. Discrete enquiries among friends eventually led to
him being introduced to Neal Potts, another gentleman of
considerable influence who eventually recruited him into C23.
