Another Country: Briefing

A series of strange deaths have rocked Gloucestershire and the Severn Valley - the tabloid press are dubbing them the Vampire Murders!

Mr J (as a senior figure in British Intelligence) became aware of the murders as soon as the first body was discovered, and using a mole in Gloucestershire Constabulary covertly had copies made of police reports and has been keeping tabs on the Police investiagtion. While the Police are baffled J now suspects there may be a 'paranormal' element to the killings; at the least there is an occult motif in the murderers apparent use of Vampire legends. And no, J does not believe in Vampires!

He wants the team to make discrete enquiries, and deal with the case, without their activity coming to the Polices attention or generating any publicity. The case has already recieved considerable media attention and he is keen it should not get any more!

So, the mission aims are to -

i) Establish the nature of the so-called Vampire Murders, and the motive for
 the killings..
ii) Discover if the murderer represents a danger to national security
iii) Neutralise any threat posed to national security
iv) Discover the nature of the toxin used in the killings, and it's origin.
v) Discover if Sebastian Lux has any involvement with the strange silence of the
goth community, and if any of the goths are actually practicing magic or otherwise
security issues.
vi) Prevent further public discussion or dissemination of material concerning the
Vampire murders - create a plausible cover story and arrange to plant false
evidence to support it.
vii) Recover any information or technologies which could be useful to the
intelligence community.

This led directly to a visit to Sanctorum Nightclub, a detailed investigation of Brichester's Goth Community, Westgate Press and eventually back to the 1920's and to meeting H.P.Lovecraft!

All of this is of course fictional, and part of the Cassandra 23 live role play game! Full details on the game can be found here.
