Background
Michael was brought up in Surrey to Paul and Pippa Long.
Michael was a well to do lad until he got caught up in
the local gangs. He was a constant troublemaker with a
string of petty crime to his name. His father being the
local police inspector did not like his son being such
an embarrassment and so abandoned him.
This all came to an end at age 16 when an arson attempt
went badly wrong and the house next door burnt to the ground.
The old lady who lived there was lucky to get out alive.
Michael was eventually caught and put on trial. He got two
years in prison.
Luckily prison had the desired effect and Michael cleaned
himself up. To everybody's amazement he joined the police
force and became a competent beat officer. Michael has a
very no nonsense attitude to his work, preferring action to
talking. His constant good work led him to becoming the
youngest detective on the force at age 26.
He was forced out of the police approximately a year ago
when it was discovered (much to his annoyance) that Michael
had used illegal wiretapping techniques to secure the conviction
of Mason Storm a local gangland boss for murder.
Since then he as become a PI. About two months ago Michael
was involved in a simple Missing Persons case that led him
to being recruited by C23.
An Oxford gent approached him to find his son who had fled
his place at Worcester College to a new life in London.
Michael followed the trail back to a Goth night called Slimelight.
He located the boy in an alleyway next to the club where he sprouted
claws and fangs and attacked Michael. Michael was knocked out
in the process of staking the vampire through the heart (he has
watched all of the episodes of Buffy).
Michael awoke sometime later in a C23 safehouse. Apparently C23
had been watching the club for some time after a recent number
of vampiric style murders in the city. Michael had tempted out
one of their recent recruits into exposing themselves. The gang
had been very difficult to track down and Michael had done the
job quicker than C23 had. So they recruited him.
